Hey, how you doing Browns Fans.

This is John Hughes and I wanted to update you guys on how camp has been going so far. Everything has been going pretty well as I’m getting to know my veteran and rookie teammates. Practices have been going pretty smoothly. We have our individual and team drills, and we are getting better, especially on the defensive line. On the line, it’s all about our hands and working around defenders. My time here in Cleveland has been great so far. The fans are great. One of the best things to see coming out to practice are fans coming to support us.

The biggest change from college to here in the NFL is that everyone is big, fast and strong. The biggest thing now is working on your technique so you’ll be able to get around defenders and being able to read plays faster. I think those are big things. Time management is also important. You are here most of the day and you have to be able to realize when you have to rest and when you have meetings.

Our first two games against the Lions and Packers went great. Being a rookie, it was good for us to get out there and get our feet wet. I think both sides of the ball did well, offense and defense. One thing I can take away from the game is getting used to the overall speed. We practice a lot, but game speed is very different. I think getting used to that and being able to transition from run to pass and doing the little things right are ways I can improve. When I walked out onto the field, my heart was pumping so fast I can’t even describe how nervous and excited I was. After that first play though, everything went smoothly.”
